"This show will make you laugh, cry, and leave you wanting more. Each actor just nails it from start to end!"

"For anyone out there bemoaning the lack of innovative, challenging, and modern plays onstage in this area, this is what you’ve been missing. Built to spec in a mindblowing art space in Paterson. This phenomenal cast of three women will rip your heart out and you will thank them."

"Stunning storytelling, evocative set, performance space like you've never seen."

anna bella eema
a ghost story for
three bodies with three voices

text by Lisa D'Amour
music by Chris Sidorfsky

directed by Sarah Gorden
musical direction by Marc Russo

Anna Bella and her mother Irene live in a ratty trailer on the edge of town. When their trailer park is slated for demolition, Irene refuses to leave. In this moment of crisis, Anna Bella creates a new girl out of mud. This mud-girl helps Anna Bella and Irene channel the supernatural and face the life they must live in the world outside their trailer home.
A richly imagined tale of a fierce mother/daughter bond, spoken and sung by three women.

Annick Vasquez (Actress #1/ Irene) was raised in Houston, TX and has been a proud member of the NJ theatre community since her move here years ago. Music has always been her first love but she caught the theatre bug in college while playing in Evening Star (Olivia) and hasn’t looked back! Favorite roles have been In the Heights (Abuela Claudia), Christmas Caper (Mrs. Claus), and Real Women Have Curves (Carmen) which garnered her the 2023 Perry Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play.

Ro Schaeffer (Actress #2/ Anna Bella) most recently performed with West Hudson Theatre and Art Company's performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream (Oberon) and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Lucy van Pelt). Previously, she took to the stage in Gypsy (Tessie Tura) with the Brundage Park Players and Man of La Mancha (Antonia) with the Theater League of Clifton. Previous credits include: Cinderella (Ensemble), Play On (Louise), La Traviata (chorister), The Barber of Seville (Ensemble), Madame Butterfly (chorister), Joseph and The Technicolor Dreamcoat (Ensemble), Ragtime (Ensemble), Noises Off (Belinda Blair), M*A*S*H* (Captain Bridget McCarthy). Leticia Diaz (Actress #3/ Mud Girl) brings a wealth of characters and stage experience to this newest production. Actor, producer, director and proud mom - she continues to find joy in the process of learning and growing both in theatre and as a creative. If not on stage in such shows as Mr. Burns, a Post Electric Play (Apu/Ensemble), The House of Blue Leaves (Second Nun), or Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (Roberta) - you might find her drumming and dancing Bomba with Segunda Quimbamba of Jersey City, producing one acts in her driveway, or jumping into the Atlantic Ocean with the Coney Island Polar Bears.
