Feb 13 + 14, 2023
3 Playwrights + 3 Directors + 9 Actors = 24 hrs to create 3 new 10-min plays.
AWARDS
There is a cash prize for the winning team of The 24 Hour Play Contest. A panel of judges will select the winning team based on originality, creativity and artistic merit. There will also be a non-cash, bragging rights, “Popular Choice Award” selected by audience vote. Prizes will be awarded directly after performances. Afterparty DJ set hosted by THE IZM 3000!
ENTRY FEES | $10.00 per person via VENMO @prototype237 -

RULES
+ Entry in The 24 Hour Play Contest is “first come, first serve”.
+ Each team must consist of five members.
One member of each team must act as the Director and one member of each team must serve as the Playwright. The Director and the Playwright of each team can also appear in the performance.
+ The Director and the Playwright from each team must attend the “VERY IMPORTANT MEETING” via Zoom (date TBD), where you will be given very important information and guidelines about the creation of your scripts.
+ Playwrights may write with other members of their team, or they may work independently on the script.
+ Each play must run no more than 10 minutes.
+ All plays must be performed as written – not improvised.
+ Limited technical support will be provided. Teams should not plan to bring in any additional technical support.

(*ACTORS are released at 10PM + return on Wednesday, February 14 by 10AM to begin rehearsals until 7PM. WRITERS remain in the space until the piece is completed.) ALL FEES DUE ($10 per person via VENMO @prototype237)

CANCELLATIONS
Due to the nature of the cash prize, all fees are non-refundable. Participants who need to cancel must inform Puffy Shirt Productions by February 11.
